Meet the 2016-17 Junior Committee
Each year the resident members of The Ospreys vote for a new Executive Junior Committee (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) and then the incoming and outgoing committee vote for the other Junior Committee members (Ents Officers, Kit Sec, Publicity Officer and Access Officer).
The Senior Committee were students of the University themselves and are still very much involved in sport and the running of The Ospreys and the University as a whole, read more here.
The 2016/17 Junior Committee are:
President: Freddie Hampel
Freddie Hampel, a 4th Year Engineer at Jesus College, is a CUHC veteran. She captained the Nomads last year to a very successful season of a Varsity Win, a double promotion in BUCS and East Leagues and BUCS Conference Cup Win.
Vice-President: Emma Walsh
Emma Walsh, a 3rd Year Bio-Natsci at Gonville & Caius, is a keen Lacrosse player who loves to climb mountains and travel the world in her spare time.
Treasurer: Charlotte Frost
Charlotte Frost, more fondly known as “Frostie”, is a 6th Year Vet at Catz and one of the more experienced members of the committee. She was Vice-President last year so knows what she’s talking about. She has Blues in both Hockey and Rugby, and can occasionally be seen competing in track and field for CUAC.
Secretary: Chidera Ota
Chidera, a 5th Year Medic at St Johns, is also a veteran to the committee. As President last year and Kit Sec in 2014/15, she knows the ropes and is always on hand to give valuable advice when us amateurs are feeling a bit lost. Originally a sprinter for CUAC, Chidera has recently been seen stretching her legs down the wing of the rugby pitch – watch this space!
Kit Secretary: Francisca Hamilton
Fran is at Churchill and a rare breed of sportswoman as a 3rd Year Architect (practically a full-time job). She is often found at Wilberforce Road, whether it’s hurdles and high jump for CUAC, or defending for CUHC women’s 3rds. Rumour has it she is also trialling for the Uni Netball Club, and some say Volleyball and Basketball…
Ents Officers: Felicity Villar and Claudia Feng
The ‘Ents’ Officers love to organise a social. They are in charge of sorting all of the Ospreys’ group events throughout the year.
Claudia is a 3rd Year Mathmo at Trinity, and a seasoned water polo player. Flick, a Women’s Blues Lacrosse girl for and another of the 4th year gang, reads Persian Studies at Trinity Hall.
Publicity Officer: Sally Bradley
Sally, is in charge of twitter, Facebook and the website for The Ospreys, and as a result can be seen on her mobile practically 24/7. A 4th Year Engineer at Trinity and Sally loves her hockey. As CUHC Women’s Club Captain, she can be seen at Wilby complaining about the gate not being shut almost daily.
Access Officer: Molly Buxton
Molly, a 3rd Year Philosopher from Catz, is another CUHC girl making her mark in the Ospreys’ world as Access Officer. Keen to expand and keep alumnae relations going, she makes sure everyone stays in the loop, whether you left yesterday, or 20 years ago!
